A child care scholarship for Clear Creek families.

Scholarships reviewed regularly on a rolling basis. Funds are limited.

The Strong Start Scholarship helps working families in Clear Creek County cover a portion of their child care costs for up to one year. Typical awards are around $400 per month. If you live or work in the county, you may qualify. See 'Frequently Asked Questions' for more information.

What is the Strong Start Scholarship?

A need-based scholarship that helps working families in Clear Creek County pay for childcare. Typical awards are around $400/month and last for up to one year.

Who can apply?

You may apply if you live or work in Clear Creek County. Priority goes to families who both live and work here.

Do I have to be working full-time?

No. Part-time work qualifies as well as currently-not-working. We understand that childcare is a key factor in getting parents into the workforce.

What kind of child care is allowed?

You can choose the care that fits your family: licensed centers, home-based care, care by family or friends (FFN), or other trusted options. Providers will be vetted, but do not have to be licensed.

How much help will I get?

Typical awards are around $400/month. The award helps cover a portion of your child care costs.

How long does the scholarship last?

Support runs from September 1, 2025 through August 14, 2026.

How do I apply?

Apply online at the link above starting August 6. Paper copies are available at Idaho Springs and Georgetown libraries.

Scholarships are reviewed regularly on a rolling basis. The six member committee is chaired by EECL President Pam Marsh and includes local government officials, district school board members, and Schools Foundations representative.
